Moving on with 23 things (#10-12)

Been on a bit of a hiatus here with the blog..have been keeping some of the other part time librarians on track with their progress along this pathway and now they are ahead of me!!!! ( #11)Looked around at the website http://www.generatorblogspot.com/ and they have an extensive list of online image generators -- I chose this flash pix generator below on right side..the old tree with the hanging sign!! This is the URL for that http://www.profilepitstop.com/myspace_flashpix/ Just a lot of options for something to add to your blog or just to play with on your own.
(#12) Library thing-for those who have not explored this topic or want the quick version of what is it? LibraryThing is an online service to help people catalog their books easily~~ very well set up and easy to negotiate..this is a place I will revist later to check out the hidden treasures that only time can reveal. (#13) Rollyo... great idea..I had no problem with making a nice seach tool to manage my cruise websites under one search window but did have problems trying to add to my blog..Check out the right hand side. I think I did get it to work!!
... and now I am UP to Maryland 23 things # lucky 13 and my brain sayyyyysssss time to let it all simmer for a bit before trying to injest any more.

Escaping to FIJI!!

Times when the drag of day to day life gets to me I tell sum of the buddies in my world!! OH..just want to jump on a plane to FIJI!! no reason..really have not researched the location to see if it would live up to the Shangri-la! of my dreams.. so today lets take a quick trip to there and see just how that might be.

OK..trip planning... BWI-SUV --$1665 ....20 + hr plane ride..
OUCH..might think of getting a ONE WAY TICKET!
($939) Wonder if they might need sum librarians out there on the beach?
Maravu Plantation Resort hotel looks to be bout $180-$335 per night with breakfast for a single..
And WHY FIJI??
Fiji's 322 islands float in a sea of shimmering blues on the flip side of the international date line. Here stunningly gorgeous beaches are the norm, and sea breezes flit through thatched houses, stirring the gauze that drapes four -poster beds. The sound of "Bula" - hello, good morning, welcome - is the only clue you'll need to sense the genuine friendliness of the Fijian people. Fijian massage reflects the local way of life - relaxed, deep and natural, using coconut oils and tropical plant essences. "Many Fijian people are natural healers, and this reflects in the massage as well,"
Here's sumone who did just that..escaped to FIJI!!!http://www.escapeartist.com/efam/64/Travel_To_Fiji.html

Creative Zen Nano Plus 1 GB MP3 Player Orange
Dimensions(WxHxD) - 1.32 x 2.58 x 0.51 -- this is probably a life size view-- My kids have ipods but being the frugal one that I am I really wanted something basic as well as ....hummm C H E A P!! so found this delivered to home by the friendly UPS man!! for less than $25. OK.. lets see how it goes!
Takes 1 AAA battery..ok easy enuff I even found one there where I stash batteries cuz the usual battery eater toys in the house take AA.
SPECS:
Stores up to 500 songs on 1 GB internal flash memory
Includes an FM tuner, voice/FM recording, and line-in encoding
Super slim and lightweight design
Drive mode allows you to store data files such as photos and presentations
High-speed USB 2.0 connectivity
Battery installed, turned on ,, had to fool with the online display some. Instructions are very limited -- loaded the software on the computer and then did a bit of shuffling cd's and abracadabra!! have bout 60 songs loaded on so far. Sound quality is good.. have even tried using external speakers for it with decent results. Only problem so far is not being able to get the preset 32 FM radio stations to go on it. Can scan individually. Still working on solution for that. Overall opinion.. decent toy for the $$

The Longest Day.... 6/21/2007

Summer solstice - the longest day of the year, when the Sun is at its most northern point in the sky.

Read Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"The "midsummer night" is actually the night of the summer solstice. It is said that on Midsummer Night elves and fairies come out in great numbers. In some traditions, the summer solstice is the time of the Sun God.

One of those days u dream bout in mid January when the wind does blow and the snow/ice forecast has you scrambling for the vestiges of civilization before you are in cabin fever land. So enjoy nature's furnace blast~~like all things in this world..it won't last.

Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer....Those days of soda and pretzels and beer.....Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer....Dust off the sun and moon and sing a song of cheer....Just fill your basket full of sandwiches and weenies....Then lock the house up, now you re set....And on the beach you ll see the girls in their bikinis As cute as ever but they never get em wet....~~~~~~~~~~~~-artist: Nat King Cole-peak billboard position # 6 in 1963-words by Charles Tobias and music by Hans Carste.
